Okay, so the device volume is down. You don't know when it happened or when you last used it. You just know that today is a hassle because your music isn't loud enough and you can barely hear your TV with the sound on. Switching things will probably fix this problem at least in the short-term, but let's get in touch with some more long-term solutions before even considering any immediate fixes. The first thing you should do is check on the status of your satellite speakers. You should already have known that if you bought them with the TV or had them there when you bought your system, that they would be of the "integrated" type. These speakers are usually of very cheap quality and will probably sound muffled, due to the fact that they don't have any separate speakers built into them. You can upgrade these to some higher-grade separates so that they become more powerful, but you'll still want to point out their limitation by placing some music on a CD player and cranking up the volume until it is no longer audible at normal listening levels. You should also note that the volume of your satellite speakers will also increase at the same time you are increasing the volume of other speakers in your system, so you'll have to check on that as well. If this were not the case, then there would be no reason for you to have to increase the volume level of another speaker in your system. If your satellite speakers are okay, then it is time to grab a couple of things out of the parts bin. First grab a set of JBL or Infinity Satellite Speakers . You can find these for around $10 each online, so grab two sets. These are all push-pull speakers, which means that the compression driver part of the speaker will be smaller than normal satellite speakers. This makes them more ideal for use in small units like this, because they will still sound great and you can place them closer to your TV than normal satellite speakers. TIP: Be sure to grab a set of center and side surrounds as well if you purchased the unit with those included as they will need to go into that same setup. Open up your old system and take a look at your Polk Audio MLX450 speakers . Go ahead and pull them out of the speaker enclosure. These are going to become your fronts in a new surround system, so you want to remove them from their plastic housing and place them into a nice set of new enclosures. You should grab two more Dayton RSS265-8 surround speakers from the parts bin as well. These are going to be your LCR's, or Low Center-Channel Speaker. You may also want to grab a small Dayton RSS225 center speaker as well for use as a center channel if you would like, but really anything will do here. Grab two more Infinity P152 bookshelf speakers for the rear surrounds and place those into your new enclosures as well. cfa1e77820
